Reliability / Availability Analysis Reliability aspects as link between system design and product assurance on one side and as topic of the project management with respect to planning, maintenance, costs and design strategies on the other side are relevant information for each project. Very often it is necessary to provide adequate reliability/MTBF values for units, subsystems or systems during the concept phase of a project. At this time the use of reliability tools is not necessary under all circumstances. Often a reliability prediction modeled and calculated by hand is a sufficient low-budget alternative to the early use of complex tools. The generated reliability model mainly based on block diagrams and values can than be used in the following project phases as baseline for detailed reliability analysis. |
